Cardiac and abdominal ultrasounds are valuable diagnostic tools to diagnose disease in a manner that is completely non-invasive to your pet and for most, no sedation is required. Ultrasonic waves are used to image the inside of the pet’s body to look at internal organs, blood flow, heart valves, lymph nodes and other tissues. Unlike radiographs that are great at outlining changes in organ sizes and shapes, ultrasounds can give important information on the insides of organs and body cavities.
